Nir Bareket began work as a professional photographer in 1965. He studied photography in New York City, where he later worked for a major advertising agency.
Following NYC, he worked in many European cities.
From 1972 to 1975 he served as Chief photographer of The Israel Museum in Jerusalem.
Toronto was his home beginning in 1975, where he operated an independent photography studio.
The breadth of his work spans theatrical, commercial, industrial, architectural, portraiture, documentary and photo-journalism.
Bareket taught photography at the New York Institute of Photography, The Israel Museum , The Hebrew University, York University and George Brown College.
Bareket's work is included in many public and private collections worldwide.
Nir passed away in 2015.
